PROJECT 1:

Let’s Meet by the Sun

Project Objective

To establish the 1st of August as the date that should be celebrated in countries along the Danube River. To inform, to make well known and to educate local and other communities on existence of prehistoric Celtic settlements on the ground of nowadays towns along the banks of the Danube River and to emphasize the common Celtic cultural background of the people in the Danube Region.
Project Impact
An integrated project of all associations of the countries of the Danube region, trough an archaeological and material artefact remains would prove common spiritual values of the Celtic culture in all countries along the Danube River. Summarizing material and non-material heritage of the Celtic tribes along the Danube Valley the civil society would have a real historical review of the areas trough witch runs this river of the European unity.

Description

One of the four important Celtic holidays – the Lugnasada would be celebrated on the 1st of August. That would be the day to organize the event named Let’s meet by the Sun on one of the Belgrade locations on the Danube banks with cultural and entertainment character, with an exhibition, selling Celtic souvenirs, tasting of the Celtic food and beer. This event would be accompanied with media and promotional activities (printing of publications and map with all Danube towns participating in this event, launching of the unique prize – a copy of Celtic utility object that symbolize intertwining of Celtic culture, tradition and heritage …)

Partners

At its invading march in descending in wave’s trough the Danube Valley toward the Black Sea, the Celts were founding their settlements which were cornerstones for later cities of: Heuneburg, Regensburg, Passau, Linz, Bratislava, Vienna, Gyor, Budapest, Vukovar, Novi Sad, Belgrade, Vidin, Silistra …
Through the integrated project of the associations of the countries of the Danube region that would organize the event with the same theme on the same day – on the 1st of August, in other Danube towns, it would mean acceptance of the joint symbolic values passed to us from the Celts.

Benefits

This project about less known facts on the joint Celtic heritage of towns in the Danube region is aimed to contribute to better information across the generations of civil society in order to have integral picture of intertwined past and common cultural and historical denominator within the Danube region.

PROJECT 2:
The City on the Danube through the Eyes of Artists
Project Objective
Introducing to the general public of the Danube region the creativity of artists who imprinted original hallmarks of their cities situated along the Danube River.
Organizing exhibition of paintings of the third age artists under the titled – MY CITY (Painter to its City); motives of the artwork would be artists’ hometowns along the Danube River. After exhibitions in towns where they live the event could be organized in other cities participating in this project.
Project Impact
Encouraging active creativity of the third age population. Connecting cultural environments trough exhibitions in local settings and their touring to other cities; present to wider community of all generations the view on the city where the artist lives and creates.
Description
Organizing exhibition of paintings of the artist Miodrag Prodanovic, with motives of Belgrade and the Danube River, in one of well-known Belgrade galleries, during 2015.
After exhibitions in hometowns, artists and their artistic opus could be presented on solo or joint exhibitions in other towns of the Danube region.
Partners
This project would give the best effects if organized in joint forces with other associations of the Danube region countries.
Support
Belgrade City Assembly, central Belgrade municipality of Stara Grad, the Tourist Organization of Belgrade, the gallery, entities from other towns of the Danube region that would organize same events on their locations.
Benefit
To inspire the third age population and other generations on creative thinking and on active participation in a culture life of their towns, regions and entire community; to enrich local culture and tourist programs; to enable better connection and understanding of cultural and artistic creativity of the communities in the entire Danube region.
PROJECT 3:
The Knighthood on the Danube
Project Objection
Informing the general public of the Danube region what was the imprint of Despot Stefan Lazarevic, as a part of the European nobility and the prominent member of the Dragon Order, on the history of Belgrade and Budapest.
Project Impact
Preserving, fostering and developing heritage of knighthood values and culture influences dominant among the nations in the middle ages; all that in order to expend the culture tourism.
Description
Play with actors in period costumes in the former court hall of Despot Stefan Lazarevic in Budim, which would be the chance to bring to life the image and importance of this ruler in medieval Hungary. Also, Belgrade from the time of Despot Stefan Lazarevic would be promoted with the production of tourist program staged on the Belgrade fortress. This program would be accompanied with media and promotional activities (printing of publications, tasting food from the Despot’s era, changing of the Despot’s guards…)
Partners
Trough the integration of the project with the association in Hungary and at the same time with a support of the municipality of Stari Grad (in Belgrade) there would be created environment to present in both Danube capitals the importance of this period for the development of the cultural tourism in above mentioned portion of the Danube region.
Benefits
This project of intertwining relationship between Belgrade and Budapest during the middle ages is intended to better information of all generations of civil society and to history thirsty personalities involved in culture tourism in order to have an insight to less known facts of cultural and historical traces of that period.
