In March 1994 the Zentrum für Allgemeine Wissenschaftliche Weiterbildung (ZAWiW, Centre for General Scientific Education) was founded by the University of Ulm. It was a reaction on the increasing request for general multidisciplinary education for adults of any age, especially in the “third age”. Main function of the centre is the development of innovative education programs for adults, esp. seniors, which subsequently are accompanied scientifically by the ZAWiW. The different programs refer to the interests and wishes of the participants and are intending to improve their autonomy in the sense of learning by research. Development and updating of educational concepts and programs are of special importance.

Terazije 35/III, 11000 Belgrade, Serbia
Contact: Zarko Gvero
Homepage
Association Sport for all is relatively young as an organization (it was founded in March 2005) but its programmatic tradition goes back to year 1952 when Partizan Yugoslavia – Association for physical education and recreation was established. The association existed under this name until 1992 when all republic associations (Slovenian, Croatian, Bosnian and Herzegovina Montenegrin, Macedonian and Serbian) participated equally in its work. After decay of the country, the Association was transformed into Association for sports recreation of Yugoslavia. The following transformation happened in 1998 upon changing the name into Yugoslav Sport for all whose existence was limited by status of the State and resulted in another change of name into Association Sport for all of Serbia and Montenegro in November 2003. After final separation of Serbia and Montenegro (in May 2006), programmatic issues were inherited by Association Sport for All Serbia. Thanks to the programmatic definitions, it motivated interests of many non- governmental organizations that, more or less, deal with programs of sport recreation for citizens regardless of their gender, race or religion. The main objective is to raise awareness and participation in physical activity toward healthy lifestyle. To fulfill this objective ASFAS has two key areas: activities and education. As well as promoting events and educational programs. Nowadays, the Association is consisted of 69 members. Certain number of associated members comes from the national level but members from local communities also make a very significant organizational structure.
